some ago time the name of this app was changed from ‘cocktail’ to ‘handbrake’ …. that’s the secret about the icon ….

can someone direct me to a windows version of the icon , since i have handbrake on my pc aswell as my macbook now!

Unfortunately, I’m not having the same experience with the new version of Handbrake that you are. I’m actually planning on reverting back to the previous release, as my dvd rips are taking at least three times longer with 0.9. I do like the alternative icon though.

great post Glenne i think the icon is meant to give the app a relaxed feel but i can see your point of view and i like the look of the replacement icons.

To me it just doesn’t fit the whole idea of an application which is used to rip DVDs. No suggestions on the error front, I get this from a few too (sadly) :-(

This is great news. I didn’t like using the old handbrake to much.

Check out the Handbrake replacement icon here. Looks really nice (even if the preview image is a bit fuzzy).
