Blogging March 11th, 2007Design matters - as much as people argue against the face, it does. Blog design is no different. A poorly designed blog with amazing content will not receive as many readers as a beautifully designed blog with equal content.
As promised here’s “Take Two” of the ten most beautiful blog designs, this time including a few of your suggestions.

I can’t believe Veerle wasn’t in the first set to be honest!
Apart from Adam’s and Derek’s (and Veerle’s obviously..) websites, I don’t really like the others. They don’t seem to have all that much to make them stand out from a crowd (that’s not to say my website does, I don’t have that factor going for me yet, either).
However, beauty and all that being in the eye of the beholder, I’m sure some people like them!

This post inspired me to create a more unique design for my site. It’s a big cleaner and unique than what came before it! Any thoughts?

Just sit down with a sketch book Seb, draw out some ideas with presentation of your content in your mind. Make the site simple and easy to navigate. At the moment I believe simple designs are ruling the blogosphere, so join in.

#5 and #9 don’t belong in this list IMO.
But yeah, thanks for this post. I didn’t realize Adam Betts was still posting; his feed hasn’t updated in forever.

I love Derek’s new design, and I’m a huge fan of Subtraction. Glad to see both of those guys in this lits. I like a lot of Adam’s work but I wouldn’t have put his site in this list.
