Why I’m Quitting ReviewMe
Personal February 2nd, 2007ReviewMe is a service where companies can purchase a review on a blog. The review must be over 200 words, but as some dont understand, it doesn’t need to be a positive review to be accepted.
I have decided to close my account on ReviewMe for a few reasons.
1. The reason most of my software posts are so positive are because I only write about an application if I use it and really like it. Nothing else gets a mention. I’d like to keep this trend up and only write about things I want to.
2. The overall reception for ReviewMe posts haven’t been accepted to well, not only on my blog but on many others. My main priority is to keep my readers happy (you).
From this day forward, no more reviews will be accepted via ReviewMe. If you would like me to take a look at your product, service, or application, feel free to send me an email via the contact form and I’ll check it out. If I really like it, you may just see a post about it.

Good on you! Stuff the review me lot!
I’m glad to hear that you care more about your readers, not many people would feel the same way!

Yeah, I like to see reviews about Apps I would maybe like to use. It’s been like that so far. ;)

Good idea, it’s poisoning the whole idea of blogs. I’d rather you put a few ads on the side than slide them into your posts.

I wanna see more Glenn, less people pleaser.

Good for you Glenn, just like Sam, it is good to hear you care more about your readers than the money you make! Thanks!
(PS why is there no more email comment thing?)

Taylor, the comments by email plugin currently is not compatible with WordPress 2.1.

Even though I’m not with ReviewMe, I have a similar situation. The only reviews found on my site are positive because I check out those apps before agreeing to review them.

I still use ReviewMe, but I reject *a lot* of review requests.
