Reader Feedback: What Content?
Personal November 7th, 2006Time for another “reader feedback” post as I’d like to get a feel for what you guys like to read about, and equally, what you dont like reading about.
Dont like me posting about design, or blogging? Or absolutely love my visual application reviews? Let me know so I can adapt and give you all what you want!
I’m looking forward to hearing from you (as for the lurkers, here’s a chance to have your say and de-lurk yourself), have a great day guys and girls!

Maybe a few more lists on how to be productive. The app reviews get a little boring. This time of the year is always slow. :(

I guess I don’t really like the blogging posts as much. I like the reviews though.
I’d say the contests are the best, but rather than choosing the winner randomly (where someone from Digg can come and swoop away the prize) it’d be better to give them to daily readers of your blog instead.

Mike, if you’re bored, check out MacHeist.
It’s a fun event to pass the time between apple keynotes.

wph: Come up with a way I can reward regular readers, email it to me, and I’ll put it into action.

Any kind of reviews hardware, software etc. are good. Particularly reviews of sweet shareware apps that have a nice UI :)
I’m not so keen on the whole blogging about blogging thing though. Oh, and if the topic has been well covered recently, try to avoid it ;)
That’s about it really… I’ve been subscribed for a while now and the blog’s pretty good.

I do like the pictures of your setup, though that’s what your Flickr feed should be for most of the time. The productivity posts are very good and I think the app reviews are nice. Finally, whether it would take a lot of time out of your schedule I don’t know, but if you put your email address clearly on the website so if we wanted to ask a question directly then we could, then that would be very helpful.
Love the blog, don’t change what your doing too much!

I really like your blogging posts, but I think that productivity lists are boring.

I really like posts that relate to setups, such as “A Realistic Dream Setup” or “Top 7 Slickest Setups”. I also like posts where you can use yourself as an example to relate to a situation. :) Vague, I know, but it’s fun to hear about you, because after all you are the author of the blog.

You should like my upcoming series then Caitlyn, “My Digital Lifestyle”.

Im not a fan of the slickest mac setups list but I really enjoy the reviews. Blogging posts are nice too. I know your probably busy, but more frequent posts would be wicked!

I like your app reviews. I’d love to see more reviews of free or open source apps. I don’t have the time to go digging for those gems hiding out in the Mac apposphere, but I’d love it if you would.
Cheers.

I like wph’s idea of restricting your giveaways to regular readers like dustin, me, wph, sam etc.

How about some more “Which Mac For Me” articles? Some examples would be Macs for programmers, web designers, students, etc..
November 8th, 2006 at 2:43 am
@Ryan: There are enough which Mac for me Articles out there.

I’m not a Mac user yet, hopefully I get my iMac for christmas and become one. It’ll be my first Mac, so I’ve been reading about lots of stuff lately, mainly GUI and application things. So, I really enjoy your reviews. I just wish there were more freeware mac programs, think maybe you could find some really good free things and review them?

I just registered, it is possible.
November 9th, 2006 at 8:39 am
Yeah, I just saw. Any chance you could explain how? Then maybe I can get something cool made up to put this to use :)
