Well, this has got to be one of the quickest, yet most beautiful simplistic design I have ever made for a site.

First, a little back story. Throughout the past few weeks I’ve been dugg to the Digg homepage many times, and my CMS (content management system) Symphony just didn’t handle the traffic well enough, so I decided to make the switch to WordPress.

WordPress is the most popular CMS for bloggers, and it is also the most easily customizable. There are hundreds of plug-in’s available, and I can now make blog posts via the amazing application Ecto, and the Flock browser. Two more defining reasons as to why I switched to WordPress.

Enough with the rambling, let’s take a look at the new sites features!

  • All new design

New design, new colour scheme, new everything. It wasn’t just a fresh coat of paint, it was a complete re-design.

  • Awesome new comment system

You can now subscribe to comments and get updates delivered to you email, and they also now have their own RSS feed. Perfect for keeping up to date. The comment system design has also been overhauled, and you can expect Ajax comment posting very soon.

  • Tags

Want to find something in the archives quickly? Or just like to browse around quickly and efficiently. All the posts are now tagged, and can easily be grouped. Expect a separate “tag-cloud” page soon.

  • Similar Articles

While viewing an article, you can press the Similar button in the sidebar and a new section will collapse showing entries in the blog similar to the one you are reading.

  • Freshness

Want the latest scoop while viewing an article? The last 5 articles are only one click away with the new Freshness tab.

  • Full browser support

The site now perfectly functions in all the major browsers. Safari, IE, FireFox, Flock, Shiira, OmniWeb.

  • Search window

Want to search the blog archives quickly? Simply hit the “Search!” button in the navigation bar and bam! You are presented pop up window with the latest 5 entries, and a box to search the blog.

Enjoy the site guys! And please leave your thoughts, ideas, and anything else you might like to add below! Happy browsing.
