Disco Teasers Unveiled, Pre-Order Your Copy
Apple August 18th, 2006Last week in my post “5 Upcoming Projects In The Mac World” I talked briefly about the latest application from the AppZapper crew titled “Disco”. Today, I have some exclusive information, an exclusive screenshot, and some licenses to give away to you!
This weekend MacZOT is offering you a chance to pre-order Disco for only $4.95! This offer is only avaliable for the first 2000 people who take it up, then you’ll be back to waiting and have to pay full price for the application upon release. $4.95 is a huge bargain for an application from the same guys who brought you AppZapper (rumor is this exclusive MacZOT price for today is a discount of over 75% of the retail price Disco will be sold for!).
I managed to pick up a 100% exclusive screenshot of Disco for you loyal readers! It’s not too revealing but it will certainly keep you guessing as to what this application will be.

Here are a few new features/teasers that were today unveiled about Disco.
- Like AppZapper, it is a simple and sexy utility
- It has 3d particle effects (one word…smoke)
- It can take advantage of the motion sensor on a laptop
- It can detect when you blow in the microphone
- The above 3 features are totally unrelated to the core function
What are you waiting for? Head over to MacZOT now and pre-order your copy of Disco for $4.95, you wont be disappointed, and you’ll certainly have much more fun with Disco than a coffee you would have used that cash on…
Bonus: The 3 closest guesses to what Disco is in the comments on this article will receive a free copy of Disco upon release, so get speculating.

It teaches you disco moves- like how to do robot dancing with a MacBook Pro in hand?!

Hmm. disco, could be 1 of 2 things, either something audio related, podcast maker, etc. Or is could be something to do with burning stuff (DISC)o. Not sure. I’m not going to bother buying it though, because I have a feeling I’ll spend 5 bucks on something I’ll never use. Should be interesting though.

Hmmm, I think it teaches you how to be a pimp, getting to swift moves and the sexy voice in tact. Like a pimp, it’s simple and sexy…
Am I close?

Oh, and my guess is that it’s some kind of system monitor for CPU%, Memory Use, HD Capacity, Temperature etc.
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:17 pm
My guess is that it’s like Software Update, but for non-apple applications.
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:17 pm
Oh, or an RSS reader (From the update buttons, and the layout from your “screenshot”

Im guessing its a Music visualize that reacts to motion (laptop moving) and sound coming into the Mic
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:18 pm
I am guessing that it’s a system monitor too. Maybe with some kind of voice activation type thing due to it’s microphone features.

I think it’s like a DJ thing… you will be using the mouse pad for spinning or something…
Anyways, I wouldn’t buy something not knowing what it is…

It’s a KGB spy satellite?
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:19 pm
It looks to me maybe like some sorta skinning software, with animations that go off when you change it? Maybe also the ability to manipulate windows based on motion and such.

It is a utility for coupling a person’s gestures, sounds, and movements to triggers which can control applications and their behavior.
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:20 pm
I too believe its a gesture/sound/movement utility, any of those trigger effects that can control other applications. Ex. Say ‘next’ and iTunes will switch to the next song.

A disc-burning app… “disc”-o? Hellooooo? Hence the smoking effects (burn, smoke, you get the picture…)
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:21 pm
I think it will be a disc burning utility with visual and maybe audio cues to indicate a “burning” in progress, complete with smoke, fire, and maybe some sizzling. Blowing on or moving your computer could have some influence on smoke effects.

Appzapper was pretty straight forward name, so why wouldn’t Disco be? Disco is the kick-ass cool brother of iTunes, and turns your Mac into a party animal. Integration with iTunes and some intelligent rules provide you with Music, and an automated DJ choosing what to play, of course you can interfere whenever you want. Most of the interface is controllable with the remote. Visually it provides intelligent visualizers for all sorts of music, and you can play with them using the motions sensor. If you really want to entertain your guests, you can even do a karaoke, with your normal music on a special EQ setting, or with .mid or .kar files, or special songs available online (or on iTunes) that offer the option to rate the singers using the microphone. Lyrics are displayed in sync with these special files, for other songs the lyrics are taken from iTunes, or searched on the internet, and are displayed in an intelligent way (using Mic and time) or manually with the Remote
You heard it here first
BTW, I already pre-ordered, so in the case of me winning I’ll pass it on to the one that gave the most creative answer here

How about I take a picture of a dead cat on the road, blur it, do a twist effect on it, then make people guess what it is and charge $5 for anyone that wants this “really cool thing”? Your “100% exclusive screenshot” doesn’t amount to crap.
September 23rd, 2006 at 4:22 pm
wow somebody. i wish i was as gutsy as you, posting criticism on the internet anonymously.
im willing to guess that its either a brother app to itunes or a burning program. the smoke -> burn relationship sounds logical. same with disc(o). and disco would be an awesome name for an add on app for itunes. i guess we’ll just see.
